2019 Is The Year For Cruising: Explore Kotor Bay, Dubrovnik, and Budapest

Cruising is the perfect way to see many places in a considerably short amount of time. You can literally go from one country to the next within hours, while you’re sipping a cocktail or swimming in a pool of a luxurious grand ship. So, if you want to leave your world behind – even if it’s just for a week – and embark on an oceanic adventure, here are three magical spots to get you inspired.

Salty Waters of Kotor Bay

Just East of Herceg Novi, Kotor Bay, or as the Italians call it, Bocche di Cattaro is a gem to be explored in Montenegro. Its lush forests that many explore on foot are just minutes away from private pebbly beaches, where one can unwind and enjoy unlimited comfort. The Adriatic sea is very unique in that the water is much saltier in comparison to other seas, and guess what that means? It keeps you afloat without any effort on your part. In other words, even if you aren’t the greatest swimmer, you don’t need to worry about drowning. However, if you’re more of a mountaineer rather than a beach person, there are always the Dinaric Alps to enjoy. This 28-kilometer-long bay sure is a place you’ll want to explore.

Historic Dubrovnik

Once you’re done in Montenegro, your cruise can continue in historic Dubrovnik. Now, if that name sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ve heard Hollywood stars mention it once or twice, especially the stars of Game of Thrones! That’s right; that’s the exact same spot where they shot the renowned series. So, whether you’re a fan or not, Dubrovnik is a Croatian seaside marvel where you can make new memories. Besides its sparkly blue sea, the city is also known for its castles like the Fort Lovrijenac and Muralles de Dubrovnik. Needless to say, if you’re a history buff, this is one place that should be on your top 10 list.

The Royal Danube in Budapest

The third and final destination of your oceanic adventure in Europe is Budapest – a real cherry on top. While Montenegro and Croatia are undeniably beautiful, Budapest – Hungary’s capital – is a royal wonder. Besides the grand Danube and breathtaking capitol that illuminates Buda at night, it is also home to the famous Széchenyi Thermal Baths built in 1913. So, just in case you got tired from exploring the city, this is the spot where you can unwind and rejuvenate.

So, if you’re looking to make new memories abroad, but are tired of flying or driving, get on a cruise ship and let the waves take you on new adventures.
