Getting All These Useless Numbers From Girls In Tokyo

So we have been collecting phone numbers and email addresses from a lot of the chicks here in the amazing Tokyo clubs. ‘Course, the only problem is I don’t have a Japanese phone. And I have tried emailing but no luck. You see, all the cellphones here in Tokyo are linked to email email addresses. But the real issue here is with the cellphone company, Docomo. Docomo automatically rejects all text, images, emails, or anything else not from a Docomo account. I have tried every way possible around this and even been posting in forums online but to no avail. Seems the only way around it is to get a Japanese cellphone.

While I had originally wanted to do that when I first planned on going to Japan, I soon realized that due to the sophisticated cellphones over here and the way the network is run, that phone would be just a piece of metal upon leaving Japan. The 3G network here is completely separate from all other networks around the world and solely for Japan.

Now, as much as I would love to be able to get back in touch with some of these girls for obvious reasons, I just don’t think that is going to happen. Someone online had suggested I just get a prepaid cellphone, but I am not so sure about that. Seems like too much of a hassle…

Jared has tried to get MySpace information as well, but MySpace is not that popular over here. Some people have heard of it but most people don’t have an account. We found one girl on MySpace, the English-speaking one I was with Friday night, but she has not logged in to her account in well over a month. And odds are that by the time she does Jared will have already departed, and I may or may not still be here.

So, I have resigned to the fact that I will most likely be unable to chill with any of the ladies I met here again unless I want to get a Japanese cell phone. Such a pity… All these damn useless numbers I have been collecting every night since I arrived. Guess I have to live for the moment!

God Bless Tokyo!
Goddamn Docomo!
