Nepal

My first day in Nepal I was robbed first time in (at that time) six years of nonstop traveling. The second day there was a 7.9 earthquake. Talk about a crazy first impression to a new country. However I quickly came to love the country.

I spent the next four months there doing quake relief work and consulting with the Nepal Tourism Board on their post-quake tourism strategy. I even made a nice uplifting Nepal earthquake video

Since then I have returned several times since and each trip has been more memorable than the one before it. The raw beauty of the landscape is further complimented by the colorful culture, friendly locals and simple yet surprisingly delicious cuisine. Definitely one of my top ten of favorite countries.
