Bhutan

Bhutan

Bhutan is one of the most isolated countries on Earth, both in terms of geography and tourism. Located high up in the Himalayan mountains sandwiched between India and China, it is an overlooked but very friendly nation — just not backpacker-friendly 😉

In order to visit Bhutan, all foreigners (except Indian nationals) must be part of an official tour group and costs start at a minimum of $200-$250 USD per day.

Cost aside, this is a breathtaking country and traveling here is an opportunity not only to experience and learn more about the local culture, but also to learn more about yourself.
