Myanmar

Myanmar

Myanmar has had a rough history, but do not let that deter you from visiting. Over the last decade the country formally known as Burma has opened up its doors to foreign tourists, and numbers are slowly but steadily increasing every year.

One of the overlooked and off the beaten path destinations in Southeast Asia.

Despite the recent online rumor (which even made it to the pages of Wikipedia) there is no McDonald’s here and no plans to open one either. Myanmar is one of the few countries on earth that does not have a McDonald’s. HOORAY! Don’t be scared, embrace the local Burmese cuisine 😊
